Art Lover's Tours with M. Louise Stanley
Take it from Stendahl, Goethe, Sargent and Corot, the 'Grand Tour' wouldn't be complete without Italy. For first timers, Rome, Florence, Siena and Venice are a must for understanding Italy, her history and art. But this is just scratching the surface. For returnees this tour will allow you to dig deeper, there are new collections and restorations in each city. Italy is 'user friendly', the people are generous, the food is fabulous and everywhere you look indoors or out, you are in a museum. Sculptors, painters, architects, photographers, writers, this is an 'Artist's Disneyland! Our days will begin with a continental breakfast in our ***hotel after which we'll spend mornings in museums and collections. We'll break into small groups to paint in the piazza or forum over a picnic lunch and late afternoon we'll explore churches and private collections. We'll share the day over a dinner under the stars. We'll have a gold leaf session in the lobby over wine and share our day's research. I will make sure you see everything that is physically possible for a person to digest in a day. They don't call this "lulu's masochistic art and earring tour for nothing!" Our pre-trip seminar will make you 'street-wise' and any research you've done we'll add to our itinerary, this is your trip! In the works: Italy for June 2016
2018 update: I am presently not leading tours. I do continue to travel with friends however.
